MESSAGE OVERLOAD
Message Overload
By Confused Artists.
This exhibition is a way of visually expressing communication. A group of artists from different cultural backgrounds and languages have come together to create a visual interpretation of what they consider important to the diverse complexity of human language.
The space is occupied by many strands of different coloured wool, all connecting to and with each other. This represents the complex links of communication. A single thread of communication can be easy to understand, but put them together with others and it can quickly become confusing and difficult to reach.
The beads are threaded onto the wool as a metaphor for people's thoughts, words and languages that are passing through the networks. The beads are the ideas we are searching for and trying to reach through all the other information in our way.
Viewers are welcome to find their own way through, which can be easy or near impossible. There is no natural beginning or end, the network has a fluid body of its own.
